Meet Your Teacher, Kat
Kat is an experienced Ashtanga practitioner and teacher passionate about helping students unlock their potential. With a deep understanding of the practice and an emphasis on approachable, step-by-step teaching, Kat specializes in guiding practitioners to move with strength, grace, and ease.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
Workshop 1: Vinyasa Basics
This session builds the groundwork for every transition in your practice. You’ll learn the true meaning of vinyasa and how to synchronize breath and movement for a seamless experience. With a focus on pranayama, Sun Salutations, and strength-building essentials, we’ll also address how healthy lifestyle habits can support your journey on the mat.
Workshop 2: Jumping Through
This session unlocks the secret to mastering the jump through. We’ll dive into the key techniques: activating your core, engaging the pelvic floor, and mastering arm rotations. Through targeted drills and progressions, you’ll work on both crossed-leg and straight-leg jump throughs, gaining strength and confidence to tackle this essential transition.
Workshop 3: Jumping Back
In this session, we’ll break down the mechanics of jump backs step-by-step. You’ll discover how to activate the “heavy lifters” and use them effectively to power your movements. Through progressive drills, you’ll build strength and refine your technique, including variations for lotus jump backs, leaving you with a powerful and controlled jump back practice.
Workshop 4: Unique Vinyasas & Advanced Transitions
This final session ties everything together, focusing on unique and advanced transitions from Ashtanga’s 1st and 2nd series. After a warm-up and hip-opening stretches, we’ll break down challenging transitions like Bhujapidasana, Supta Kurmasana, Eka Pada Sirsasana, and Cakrasana, the backward roll. With accessible options and step-by-step guidance, you’ll leave feeling confident and empowered to explore these dynamic movements.
